NIC General is a wholly owned subsidiary of NIC Holdings Limited, created in 2014 to specialize in general insurance following the legal separation of life and non-life insurance under the Insurance Amendment Act.
Its parent company, NIC Holdings (formerly National Insurance Corporation), was founded in 1964 and later privatized in 2005, becoming the first insurance company to be listed on the Uganda Securities Exchange in 2010. Today, NIC General continues this legacy, offering reliable and trusted general insurance services in Uganda.
