NIC Holdings Limited (NIC) is one of Uganda’s oldest and most trusted insurance brands, founded in 1964 as the National Insurance Corporation. Following its privatization in 2005 and public listing in 2010, NIC became the first and only insurance company listed on the Uganda Securities Exchange.
In 2014, NIC restructured into a holding company with two subsidiaries—NIC General Insurance and NIC Life Assurance—ensuring focused and specialized service delivery. Today, both companies continue to uphold NIC’s long-standing reputation for reliability, innovation, and excellence in the insurance industry.
